A progressive voice of the digital age, we are fighting for our digital freedoms in software, hardware and on the Internet. We watch for corporate abuse as well as promote knowledge and educate people about the dangers our rights currently face such as DRM and software patents. We do this with a focus on the Free Software movement and the ideals presented by the EFF, FSF, ACLU, and the hacker ethic.

Despite Much Adversity, WikiLeaks Continues Their Work

rkamens's picture

Despite having their domain shut down, WikiLeaks is still continuing on with their work of insuring governmental transparency. Just today, they released a document detailing US plans to shoot down an earth-bound satellite. The document is a presentation given by FEMA.

While WikiLeaks pushes on, acting as a clearinghouse for leaked documents, we must continue to defend them here in the United States. If you haven't done so already, read my previous blog post on the WikiLeaks gag order. You'll be able to find mirrors, files, and ways to help WikiLeaks.

We must break the congressional silence on this issue. Despite being reported in almost every major news outlet, no members of our congress have stepped forward on this issue. It's time that our representatives show their support of WikiLeaks and whistleblowers everywhere.

Please take the time to call the offices of Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul. If anybody is going to do something about this in Congress, it's probably them.
Ron Paul - (202) 225-2831
Dennis Kucinich - (202) 225-5871

If you don't know what to say, build off this:
"Hi, my name is ___ and I'm calling from ____. I am calling ______ to urge him to make a statement regarding the recent federal injunction against Wikileaks.org. (Ask if they have heard about it, if they haven't, feel free to fill them in). I am calling _______ because I believe he has the power to make a difference and he has been a champion of free speech and citizen's rights in the past"

Until then, we will continue to defend Wikileaks, make the censored files available, and fight until all information is free!
